When versatility in talent and ability is a necessity in the new age of music, Tory Lanez doesn’t fall short. What almost appeared to be a hiatus from his debut album “I Told You”, Tory returns to remind fans and everyone else why Toronto-bred artists aren’t artists to overlook.

It wasn’t too long ago where Canada’s most exciting imports ,typically involved accompanying morning pancakes in the form of authentic maple syrup, and not the music entertainment industry. In 2017, Toronto has not one but two prominent artists taking the world by force, dedication, and quality music. Tory is starting his 2017 correctly, pinning himself on Forbes own “30 under 30” list, and at the rate Lanez is breaking records, he will need his own “30 for 30” when he decides to hang his jersey up. Dropping two mixtapes at the top of 2017, “The Chixtape” and “The New Toronto 2”, Tory hones in and perfects the sound fans have grown to love and appreciate. Each mixtape was carefully constructed and curated for fans of his raw rapping ability, and his soulful, harmonious R & B side as well, with each tape having a balanced mix of both, a true ying and yang effect was achieved.

Focusing on “The New Toronto 2” Tory kicks off his first track “Talk to me Nice” in typical Tory fashion, which has been always a status quo of nothing less than epic. His instrumentals rival that of dramatic, climactic movie score melodies that leave you entranced, in awe, and only enhanced by well layered verses and ad-libs over the top of the beat. Tory is known to tell a story and paint a picture with his music and TNT2 is definitely worth a listen for hip-hop fans of all calibers.
