The fourth studio album from rapper Big Sean did not come to disappoint. Debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200, this album continues the rap legacy Big Sean has begun to cultivate. With producing credit and features from some of the hottest people in the game, including Big Sean’s current love instead Jhene Aiko (billed as Twenty88), there is no wonder why Big Sean is one of the hottest rappers in the game! Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You


Released by Sheeran as one of two singles from his album, Divide, this song saw more success than his Castle On The Hill. Originally written for Rihanna, Sheeran turned this dance classic out in a way only he could.  Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Shape OF You became Sheeran’s first #1 hit!

Lady Gaga – The Cure

Fresh off her performance from this year’s Coachella, Gaga released her first single since Joanne. Debuting the song during her Coachella set, Gaga released the song for streaming and purchase soon after. This leaves the question; will we be getting a new album from Gaga this year?


After Laughter

After more than four years of waiting and anticipating, Paramore dropped their fifth studio album, After Laughter. The follow-up to their 2013 self-titled album, Paramore has seen some major changes before releasing this project, restructuring the group by adding some old members and parting ways with some members. Unfortunately, the album leaked before its scheduled release, hurting its overall performance. After announcing her split from her longtime husband and manager and details started to come out about what caused the demise of such a Hollywood relationship success story, Mary decided to take matters into her own hands. After a trying year or so, Tamar Braxton is back with her latest single, My Man. The R&B songstress pulls inspiration directly from her parent’s strenuous relationship to chronicle the pain one can feels from losing his or her loved one to the heart of someone else.

Trap music megastar Future released not one but TWO albums so far this year! Future is the fifth studio album by the rapper, giving his fans more of the trap feel that they love. HNDRXX, released a week after FUTURE, gave him fans that love the radio version of Future what they wanted. SZA finally releases her highly anticipated and long-awaited debut and it does not disappoint! A collection of 14 tracks; SZA takes us on a journey illustrating the power of the control and the role it can play in life. With small anecdotes from her mother along the way, SZA truly provides an overall and connected listening experience, often lacking in today’s musical landscape. If this is her debut, I can not wait to see what the future has in store for SZA! Memorable Tracks: the whole damn album!

With all the AMAZING music we have been blessed with so far this year, it’s hard to imagine what we could be blessed with in the second half of 2017. While there are some highly anticipated releases (*cough cough* Nicki *cough cough* Jay) , it will be interesting to see what the rest of 2017 brings!
